Thunderbird Setup Instructions
Setting up a new account:
Before setting up your email on any device/application you’ll be required to change your password from the temporary password we provided you upon account creation. If you have lost/forgotten this password please contact [email protected]
Step 1
Open Thunderbird and click on the ‘Hamburger’ menu in the top right corner.
Step 2
Select Options followed by Account Settings.
Step 3
Click Account Actions and select Add Mail Account.
Step 4
Enter the Name you wish to display on your outgoing emails, your full Email Address followed by your Password. Then click the Manual Config button.
Step 5
For the Incoming server select IMAP and for the Server Hostname enter skymail01.skystreamhosting.com. Select Port 993, SSL and Normal Password from the dropdowns.
Step 6
For the Outgoing server select SMTP and for the Server Hostname enter skymail01.skystreamhosting.com. Select Port 587, STARTTLS and Normal Password from the dropdowns.
Step 7
Enter your full Email Address as your Username for both and then press the Re-Test button. Thunderbird will test your setting and when correct you can then click Done.
Step 8
Hit OK to close the account settings window.
Step 9
Your account is now set up and ready to use.
Update an existing account:

Step 1
Open Thunderbird and click on the ‘Hamburger’ menu in the top right corner and select Account Settings.
Step 2
Find your account on the list on the left. Select Server Settings underneath it.
Step 3
Update the following:
Server Name: skymail01.skystreamhosting.com
Port: 993
Connection Security: SSL
Click OK to save.
Step 4
Click Outgoing Mail Server from the list on the left. Then select your Email Address from the box and click Edit.
Step 5
Update the following:
Server Name: skymail01.skystreamhosting.com
Port: 587
Connection Security: STARTTLS
Click OK to save.
Step 6
Hit OK to close the Account Settings window. Your account is now updated.
Email Client Setup
For instructions on how to configure another email client for use with your Skystream Hosting email account choose from one of the following:
